HOME > About Me
Who am I? Call me a writer, teacher and webmaster whose broadcasting career was abruptly cut short by the cancellation of my award-winning radio program last February 24, 2006 (the day President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared a state of national emergency).
I am an assistant professor of the Department of Journalism at the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC) in Diliman, Quezon City. I am also the head of the UP CMC's Office of Research and Publication.
I am also a member of the Board of Editors of Bulatlat, an independent weekly online news magazine and a columnist for Pinoy Weekly, a progressive Filipino tabloid. During my spare time, I write for various publications and give lectures, seminars and workshops.
I earned a Master of Arts in Philippine Studies (with High Distinction) from De La Salle University (DLSU) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, major in Journalism (cum laude) from UP Diliman.
You are advised to read some frequently asked questions about me, ranging from the semi-serious to the humorous/scandalous. If you're a techie, you may be interested to read some technical notes.
Aside from this personal website, I have a blog titled Rising Sun. I also maintain Danny & Joy: The Wedding Special.
